Dynamilis Handwriting Practice

Use stylus-based handwriting activities, an assessment profile and progress views for children aged 5–12.

Our take

Families seeking structured handwriting practice on an iPad with a compatible stylus

Shortlist Dynamilis for a child’s structured iPad handwriting practice when a compatible stylus and subscription fit the setting. The activity variety and progress view make it more than a tracing sheet. Read assessment results as material to discuss with an appropriate specialist; research history and school approval are useful context, not a guarantee of improvement or a diagnosis for an individual child.

Keep in mind: The intended age range is 5–12. The product is not calibrated for adult interpretation according to its FAQ.

What you can do

  • Handwriting sample analysis with a profile of strengths and areas for practice
  • Personalized activities involving letter formation, movement paths, pressure and dexterity
  • Progress views over time for parents, schools or therapists
  • Other activities can work offline; assessment and viewing results require internet according to the FAQ

Good for

  • Families seeking structured handwriting practice on an iPad with a compatible stylus
  • Teachers or therapists reviewing a child’s practice alongside their own observations

Consider alternatives for

  • A guaranteed treatment outcome or a substitute for qualified assessment
  • A permanent fully free course or an entirely offline assessment workflow

Match the activity to the writing task

The publisher shows both word-writing and movement-control activities. Use the progress view to keep observations over time rather than treating one score as the whole picture. The FAQ distinguishes the networked assessment/result step from other activities that can work offline.

What the research and education sources establish

EPFL’s CHILI project page connects Dynamilis to Co-Writer research and explains the use of dynamic pen measurements such as speed, pressure and tilt. It is a primary source from the affiliated research organization, not an independent review of version 68.0 or proof of an individual outcome.

Jura’s SEN/SFP software catalogue lists a classroom-use assessment updated October 19, 2026, with conditions concerning accounts and data. Its scope is educational suitability in that setting; it does not establish clinical efficacy or replace local school policies.

Compare the subscription for the actual setting

The current US purchase list and website give $14.99 monthly and $89.99 yearly Full Access options. The website’s classroom offer has a separate annual structure and child limit; do not treat it as identical to every multi-child App Store item. Confirm trial eligibility, renewal and the stylus equipment needed before subscribing.

Editorial basis

Official product, FAQ, pricing, privacy and press-kit pages, current US App Store version 68.0, EPFL project information and the Jura catalogue were reviewed November 4, 2026. The gallery reproduces official activity screens without inventing assessment results. No child session, sensor test, clinical study review or learning-outcome experiment was performed.

Limitations & considerations

  • The intended age range is 5–12. The product is not calibrated for adult interpretation according to its FAQ.
  • Pressure and tilt measurements depend on the stylus model. Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon is recommended, but not every model provides every sensor.
  • The current release is 68.0. Official press-kit activity images do not state their capture version and may predate the new game design.
  • Seven-day trials auto-renew into the selected subscription unless canceled under its terms. No permanent free full-course tier was established.

Privacy & permissions

The provider says it collects data needed for operation with consent and stores app data in Zürich, Switzerland. These are provider disclosures rather than our security audit.

The Jura education catalogue’s October 19, 2026 assessment permits classroom use under its stated local conditions, requires parental consent before accounts for under-16s and excludes sensitive data. That regional assessment is not universal legal approval.
