Viking Row: Drum Rhythm Game

Row in time with a drum beat using front-camera motion input, with an optional spoken chant and score leaderboard.

Our take

A short movement-based rhythm game

Consider Viking Row for a rhythm game where seated movement is the controller. Start with the row-only mode if voice input does not suit your space, and distinguish on-device motion processing from advertising and leaderboard traffic.

Keep in mind: No camera detection, timing, microphone or gameplay test was performed.

What you can do

  • Use front-camera body tracking to score rowing strokes to a drum beat
  • Optionally score the spoken chant or play with microphone input off
  • Continue a voyage while keeping the rhythm
  • Optionally submit a display name and score to the global leaderboard

Good for

  • A short movement-based rhythm game
  • Players who want camera input instead of repeated screen taps

Consider alternatives for

  • A fitness measurement or therapeutic exercise program
  • Assuming local camera processing means zero online data handling

Set up the camera before the voyage

Use a stable phone position, keep the upper body in frame and leave room for the rowing motion. Choose whether to enable the microphone and start with a comfortable short session. The supplied guide describes this setup; we did not perform it.

Limitations & considerations

  • No camera detection, timing, microphone or gameplay test was performed.
  • The guide is AI-assisted developer material. Its suggested room setup is not an independent compatibility test.
  • Current iOS 1.0.0 requires iOS/iPadOS 17; Android parity is not established.

Privacy & permissions

The policy says camera frames and optional chant audio are analyzed on-device and are not saved or uploaded. These are publisher statements, not a network audit.

Optional score submission sends a display name, score and random ID to Firestore. Ads use AdMob; the store declares tracking identifiers.
