The short answer

Claude Duet is the more direct shortlist for an eligible Claude subscriber who wants continuity with existing Claude context. Muse is worth considering for ongoing personal goals and its dedicated agent environment. Neither is a universal choice: account access and your required services come first.

Side by side

RequirementClaude DuetMeta Muse
Entry route Invited US Pro/Max research preview Free entry and paid subscriptions; market rollout
Existing context Claude memory, skills and supported connectors Muse tasks, goals and connected services
Execution environment Own cloud computer Dedicated cloud VM and browser
Inspect work Tasks tab; completed artifacts in Make Status/activity, Goals and audit trail
Specific limit Microsoft 365 unavailable; no phone calls/texts Do not assume a region or connector is supported from the launch alone

The useful difference is the surrounding workflow

Both products are presented as agents that continue work beyond a single answer. That similarity makes a feature-count contest unhelpful. The more useful comparison is where your context begins, which apps the agent can reach, how you follow a task and what the product asks you to decide.

Imagine the same assignment in both: collect the details for a client meeting and prepare a follow-up draft. The result should include the meeting purpose, the relevant evidence, unresolved questions and a separate draft. A confident summary without source links is harder to trust than a modest brief that lets you reopen the original information.

Claude Duet: continuity with a Claude account

Anthropic’s setup guide says Duet uses the memory, skills and connectors already configured in the Claude account. During the checked preview, access requires a US Pro or Max account and an invitation. Team and Enterprise access is not yet included in that guide.

This makes Duet a natural shortlist when you already organize work in that ecosystem. It is less convenient when your team depends on a service absent from the current supported set. Do not infer that every integration available elsewhere in a vendor’s catalog works identically inside a newly released preview.

Muse: an agent environment for continuing goals

Meta’s launch material positions Muse around personal tasks and goals. Its security documentation describes an isolated cloud VM and a separate permission authority for outside actions. That infrastructure is part of the provider’s design explanation, not a claim that your phone is running the agent locally.

For a continuing goal, ask how plans become concrete work and how you inspect progress. A weekly project with a clear next action is easier to supervise than a broad instruction to improve your life. Regional availability also matters: a launch announcement for one country does not establish worldwide access.

Muse checkout approval screen presents an order for Deny or Allow. An approval for this action is separate from permission to read connected information.

Compare the same deliverable and the same boundary

Use the same deliverable to expose a difference that matters: a brief for tomorrow’s client meeting, with links to the calendar event, two source messages and a separate reply draft. Check whether each product can reach those inputs before comparing the output.

Duet’s published limits include no phone calls or texts to other people, no Microsoft 365 connector yet and no browser takeover. Muse’s launch describes an audit trail and selectable email read/send access. These are documented differences; they do not establish a measured winner for reasoning or output quality.

There is an official-source discrepancy: the Duet product page displays a Microsoft/Office 365 integration logo, while the current preview help explicitly lists Microsoft 365 as unavailable. This comparison follows the help page’s specific preview limitation; confirm the connector in the actual account rather than relying on the logo.

When the choice changes

If your work already lives in supported Claude connectors and you qualify for Duet, its reused account context reduces setup. If your intended workflow depends on Muse’s available services and ongoing Goals view, evaluate that route. If the required account cannot connect, use an export or another supported workflow rather than subscribing in anticipation.
