Our take

Professionals who already use Claude and want source-linked briefs, prepared work and ongoing follow-up.

Claude Duet fits invited US Pro or Max subscribers who want ongoing work using supported Claude account context. It is a phone-based research preview backed by a cloud computer; its briefings and background activity consume the same plan allowance as chat.

Before you choose: Invited US Pro/Max accounts only in the checked preview; Team/Enterprise unavailable.

Who it suits

  • Professionals who already use Claude and want source-linked briefs, prepared work and ongoing follow-up.

When to choose something else

  • People who need free-tier, Team/Enterprise or guaranteed immediate preview access.

Features & tradeoffs

Features below come from the linked provider documentation. The recommendations above are our editorial interpretation.

  • Uses existing Claude memory, skills and supported connectors.
  • Tasks tracks work; Make holds finished artifacts.
  • Morning briefs and background work share Pro/Max usage limits.

What carries over from Claude

Memory, skills and supported connectors already configured in Claude are available to Duet. That reduces setup for an existing account, but does not mean Duet sees every project or every file on your computer. The help guide lists Microsoft 365 as unavailable and describes limits on some connectors.

Where work and decisions appear

Tasks shows ongoing work and items needing your input. Make holds finished artifacts such as briefs or slides. Open those outputs and their sources before marking a task complete; the provider says only the user can mark completion.

Eligibility and background usage

Use the official waitlist and invited email to follow the iPhone or Android setup route. Pro/Max payment alone does not create immediate access. Morning briefs and check-ins count toward the five-hour and weekly plan limits. The agent checks connected accounts at intervals, so it should not replace urgent calendar or inbox alerts.

Limitations & considerations

  • Invited US Pro/Max accounts only in the checked preview; Team/Enterprise unavailable.
  • Microsoft 365 unavailable; some connectors have preview limits.
  • No phone calls or texts to other people; account checks occur at intervals.

Privacy & permissions

Duet processes work on its own cloud computer. Disconnecting a source stops future access but does not erase memory from earlier conversations. Its help guide documents Search and reference chats as a separate control for past-chat searching.
